On behalf of the faculty, staff and students, I wish to welcome you/It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the Department of Public Health and Informatics, Jahangirnagar University. The department has started its journey in 2011 as a pioneer department under one of the public university to explore and address the unprecedented and unmet public health problems around the world especially least developed countries.
From the beginning, this department is still to educate such a way that not only exemplifies a passion for knowledge in public health field/practice and pursuit of academic excellence but also the compassion to serve the betterment of people health in near future. All the faculty members are committed to close engagements with students to develop their intellectual curiosity, participation, and motivation for interactive teaching-learning approaches as well as evidence-based research which promote innovation in the development and delivery of life saving solutions at global health level.
Public Health, as a dynamic and fast growing profession all over the world including Bangladesh, this subject has always been a high priority choice to the students coming for University education. We aim to provide our students with an inspiring and immersive scientific education which will build capacity developing them as a public health leaders, practitioners, critical thinkers, advocates, and to train the next generation of outstanding researchers with strong theoretical knowledge and cutting-edge methodologies in an inclusive, diverse, public health, international health, and global health arena.
